Wednesday 30th May 2007- 19:15 for 19:30 (film start), at St Columba's, URC, Oxford. The Faith in Action group, a joint committee of four central Oxford churches (Wesley Memorial Methodist, New Road Baptist, St Michael-at-the-Northgate Anglican, and St Columba's URC), are having a special showing of the film An Inconvenient Truth, with a theological reflection led by the minister at St Columba's, Susan Durber.
Saturday 2nd June 2007- THE WORLD CAN'T WAIT RALLY. Gather on the banks of the River Thames in London. Wear white, bring your alarm clock or phone alarm, and raise your voices against poverty. Join us! Oxford campaigners will be gathering at Oxford Bus Station in Gloucester Green at 9am to catch the Oxford Tube Coach (leaving from Bay 3). Sunday 3rd June 2007- We are pleased to announce that this year Sage will be helping to plan and taking part in Environment Sunday at St. Margaret's, Lewknor.
Sunday 3rd June 2007- 9.30 a.m. Christ Church, Abingdon, Oxfordshire, has a service for Environment Sunday - the title is Caring for Creation, and the service is to be taken by the youngest of the childrens' groups. For details contact Richard Riggs.
Sunday 3rd June 2007- 10.30am. St Edburg's, Bicester, Oxfordshire will be celebrating Environment Sunday as part of a Family Communion Service. Contact Colin Cockshaw.
Tuesday 5th June 2007- To celebrate World Environment Day, Oxford City Council is organising Oxford's own climate change conference in the Town Hall from 2pm until 8pm. Speakers include: Lord May, Mark Lynas, Chris West, John Goddard, Philip Sellwood, Chris Goodall, Chris Jardine, Ian Bacon, George Marshal, Peter Couchman, Rex Knight and Craig Simmons. An exhibition will take place between 2pm and 8pm reflecting the themes of the conference. There will also be film screenings of the Al Gore film, An Inconvenient Truth at 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm, also in the Town Hall. If you want to find out what you can do now, we want you to visit the exhibition, which opens at 2pm, and come to the conference, which begins at 4pm. Saturday 16th June 2007- 1.30pm – 4.00pm. Didcot Earthcare are holding a community swap shop. This is a chance to get rid of things you don’t want and pick up something you do. No money is going to pass hands. This is simply a way of stopping goods ending up in our landfill sites. The Swap Shop is at Ladygrove Community Centre,

Global warming will have worldwide impacts on plants and animals in both the natural world and the agriculture and fisheries on which we depend for food. From the tropics to the poles, all habitats will be affected. This weekend will explore what these effects might be and the science behind our understanding. The event is designed for a non-specialist audience. Fees from £69.80. Group discount of 25% for groups of six or more people.

Saturday 7th July 2007- To celebrate the fifteenth anniversary of the Quiet Garden Movement, they are putting on a series of events entitled 'Green Grace - earthing our spirituality'. Details are at www.quietgarden.co.uk. The event in our area is at White Waltham, Berks where Prof Celia Deane-Drummond will be speaking on 'Wisdom for the earth'.
Sunday 8th July 2007- Chiltern Gateway event at Adwell house and grounds with a barbeque and open air service led by A Rocha UK. There will be an opportunity to walk around the grounds and hopefully catch a glimpse of some of the wildlife in this beautiful corner of God's world.

Saturday 6th October 2007- A new "Walk with the Creator" series will be starting this autumn. The walks will take place in the beautiful Pang Valley in Berkshire.The River Pang is one of the cleanest chalk rivers in the Thames Basin and supports a variety of plant and animal life. The whole area is a patchwork of woodland copses and small meadows and is said to have inspired Kenneth Grahame to write the children's classic Wind in the Willows. The starting point is about 45 minutes drive from Oxford and we advise car sharing if possible. The walks will finish with a cup of tea at the Black Barn and there will be a charge of £2 a person. A circular walk (approx. 4 miles) in the Pang valley. Meet at the Black Barn at 2.00 pm. The Black Barn at Rushall Manor Farm is situated off Back Lane between Stanford Dingley and Bradfield. 8-11 October 2007- Global Challenges, Global Solutions, CIWEM’s annual conference, The Global Environment 2007, is the only opportunity to engage with a wide cross-section of those leading the debate on the key challenges of our time. This includes a session on Tuesday 9th October (9.40 a.m. to 12.40 p.m.) on "Faiths, Culture and the Environment" at which Sage member, Martin Hodson, will be speaking. Saturday 13th October 2007- 1-4pm. Fungi-tastic! Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve. Meet at Aston Rowant NNR car park - signposted from the A40 near Stokenchurch. An afternoon of fun with fungi, discover the wide range of fungi on the reserve as you go on a foray through our ancient beech woodland with our fungi expert. Sunday 14th October 2007- 2.00-4.00pm. Using your LOAF (and save money) Using local, organic, animal friendly, and fairly traded products is one possible way of living a more sustainable lifestyle. The Chiltern Gateway Project based at St.Margaret's church, Lewknor are holding a LOAF fayre.
