Now I have no spouse</div> <div> it's sensible and ethical to buy a smaller house.</div> <div> I've chosen a small semi so I have some cash left over</div> <div> to set a good example by making it much greener.  </div> <bR> <div> I need a bigger kitchen so a timber built extension</div> <div> will house my washer (triple A). It is my intention</div> <div> to shrink my carbon footprint.  I'll have to use less power</div> <div> so I've fitted solar panels to heat water for my shower.</div> <bR> <div> Above my roof a turbine will be spinning quietly</div> <div> transforming gusts and breezes to electricity. </div> <div> The loft and walls are padded out with genuine fleece</div> <div> protecting me from cold and heat, like a moorland sheep. </div> <bR> <div> My Danish double glazing is framed in solid wood.</div> <div> Plastic uses too much oil. Everybody should</div> <div> use timber that's sustainable. Firing bricks is cruel</div> <div> to the environment, burning too much fuel.  </div> <bR> <div> Buried in my garden is an underground tank</div> <div> to take the rainfall from my roof and store it, like a bank,</div> <div> for watering and washing clothes, and to flush the loo.</div> <div> This will cut my water bills.
